New Arrivals This Week, Part I

This week, we have several very unique pieces that have arrived at the store. This includes a 1964 Mosrite Ventures Model solid body electric guitar and 1964 Vox Twin 10 AC-10 tube guitar amp.

The Vox amp was manufactured in England by Jennings Musical Industries.Vox is a musical equipment manufacturer which is most famous for making the Vox AC30 guitar amplifier, the Vox electric organ, and a series of innovative but commercially unsuccessful electric guitars and bass guitars.[citation needed] Founded in Kent, England, Vox has been owned by the Japanese electronics firm Korg since 1992. Vox amps have been used by many other artists including Hank Marvin, Pete Townshend, John Scofield, Snowy White, Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, Peter Buck, Justin Hayward, Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork as well as The Beatles and many others.

The guitar is a Mosrite, originally based in Bakersfield, California in 1952. The same year as Fender started. Founded by Semie Moseley, Mosrite guitars were played by many rock and roll and country artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Ventures, The Ramone's Tommy Tedesco, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, Davie Allan, Kurt Cobain, Joe Maphis, Buck Owens, Larry Collins, Buck Trent, Nick McCarthy, , the MC5, Iron Butterfly, Dottie Rambo. Arthur Lee Love, Fred Sonic Smith, Ricky Wilson, Kayama Yuzo, and Kevin Shields. Virtually everyone who is anyone has owned a Mosrite at some time in their life. People like Brian Wilson of The Beachboys, Jimi Page, Duane Allman. Roy Buchanan. Larry Gatton, Rick Springfield, & hundreds of well known musicians (Too many to list) have all been captured by the allure of the Mosrite guitar. In the 60's a Mosrite was priced at approximately double of a Fender Stratocaster.

These two pieces are a great example of superb craftsmanship and sound. Check back in several weeks when they are sold at no reserve on eBay.

Another Fender Harvard Tweed tube amp

It seems that items come to The Sell It Now Store in flocks at times. It has been a year or so since the last tweed amp arrived and we have never had two at one time. We now have two Fender Harvards and a Champ tweed that have arrived in the past few weeks, along with a number of other Fender amps.

This one appears to have been in a closet for much of it's life but has been re-tweeded we believe. It is a nice original survivor and sounds great. It was made in 1958. These amps were produced from 1955 - 1962.

Remember this toy?

This is a Tin Lithograph San Francisco Cable Car Friction Toy. It was made in Japan and sold at Bay Area gift shops. It features a bell inside that rings when the toy is pushed along the floor. This is a unique piece of history and the tin litho toys are popular worldwide. We believe it will fetch somewhere around $100 on eBay.

This week's featured auction - 1956 Wurlitzer 2000 Centennial Jukebox

This week's featured auction is a 1956 Wurlitzer 2000 Centennial Model jukebox. This is a survivor and has the scarce factory wood side finish in green. This model features 200 selections and the novel roto-pages which are motorized title strip books. It is considered Scandinavian Modern design and has glass pilasters. These are one of the most desirable jukeboxes produced and should fetch $6000-8000 in this condition.

Coming Soon to eBay Motors

We will be listing this beautiful 1972 DeTomaso Pantera in the next week on eBay. This is a 12,000 mile original with a 351 engine.

The name Pantera is Panther in Italian. This beautiful car was designed by US-based designer Tom Tjaarda and replaced the De Tomaso Mangusta. Unlike the Mangusta, which employed a steel backbone chassis, the Pantera was a steel monocoque design, the first instance of De Tomaso using this construction technique. It made its public debut in Modena in March 1970 and was presented at the 1970 New York Motor Show a few weeks later. Approximately a year after that production Panteras started finding their way into the hands of customers and production had already been ramped up to a remarkable (by the standards of Modena built exotica) 3 per day.
